I'm wrapping up my 6-year term of office as your coordinator in December and this will be the last time you will hear from me from that perspective. I want to say that I'm looking forward to having more free time, more space on my calendar, and fewer responsibilities, but in all honesty, I'm struggling to consider how I will fill that space and time with anything quite as meaningful. My experience as your coordinator has offered me opportunities to solve complex problems, grow in leadership skills, seek to understand issues affecting our professions, and be engaged in advocacy for our professions and the clients we serve. I have met and worked closely with some truly spectacular individuals on projects large and small. I feel so fortunate to have served all of you in this way and thank you for letting me have this chance of a lifetime as your coordinator. So, appropriate words that come to mind include “bittersweet”, “proud”, “satisfied”, “grateful” and “enhanced”.
