On his Web site (www.lesbrown.com), author and motivational speaker Les Brown uses the headline “Unwrap your infinite greatness.” He also shares that “You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” I always enjoy listening to motivational speakers or reading books that inspire me to embrace change. And, change, it seems, is happening around us every day. Health care reform, regulatory and reimbursement changes, and employment opportunities are just a few things that are challenging us to keep up. How do we achieve success in our careers? How do we achieve positive outcomes with our patients, especially when we are faced with the pressures of doing the best we can throughout our day, even in situations that can, at times, be adversarial? As I write this column, I'm wearing my funky cool reading glasses, a change for me. My husband asks me why I put them on when I have 20-20 vision. Perhaps next time I will tell him that I need them in order to unwrap my infinite greatness. Keep setting your goals and dreaming your dreams, and encourage the clients you serve to do the same.
