The ASHA Convention was a great success. Thank you to all who attended the Division 15 meeting and the Short Course. Your input is invaluable. I especially appreciated having the opportunity to chat with all of you who took time to stop by the special interest divisions’ booth at the Convention center. Our “Chronologically Gifted” T-shirts were a show stopper; even the vendors were interested in who we were. We are looking for ideas for the 1997 Convention. Would you like a special shirt, a hat, a corner where we can chat? We want to get personal.
Now that you have signed up, climb on board. We need volunteers. What is your special area of expertise? Our newsletter can use a coeditor, reviewers, and writers. Send us your articles…suggestions for topics…opinions…questions. What would you like to see in the newsletter? Who would you like to have write an article? Gerontology covers a vast body of knowledge. As clinicians, teachers, and researchers, it is important that our knowledge base be multi-disciplinary. Communication involves all of the senses as well as our psychological and physical being. This newsletter need not limit itself to articles solely on audiology and speech-language pathology. We are planning future articles on a variety of topics, some by authors outside the fields of speech-language and hearing. We hope you find them useful.
