I want to welcome everyone to Division 15, Gerontology. You are part of this division at a very exciting time as we are really moving forward to better serve our affiliates. At the end of 2004, we submitted our application to become an ASHA CE Provider and were granted approval earlier this year. Your Steering Committee (SC) is hard at work to put the system in place so that affiliates can earn CEUs through self-study of Perspectives. This will take a little time. We are required to conduct a pilot study with our next issue, which will be in December, recruit a peer review board, and set up the record-keeping system for monitoring the CEUs for all of you. The ability to earn CEUs through Perspectives is indeed value added to your membership in Division 15. I would like to extend a great big “thank you” to affiliate Cecelia Lux, who has volunteered to be the new CE Administrator for the Division. Our first issue to offer CEUs is anticipated to be July 2006.
